Habeas Corpus Relief / Removal
We are known for our legal expertise in representing individuals before the immigration courts. We are known for taking on challenging and complex immigration cases, exploring innovative ways to avoid having clients found deportable by an immigration judge, and/or developing sound legal arguments to support a client's eligibility for relief from removal. Various forms of relief from removal that a client may be eligible to apply for before an immigration judge include asylum, cancellation of removal/suspension of removal, section 212(c) relief, adjustment of status, and citizenship. In addition to representing individuals before the immigration courts, we have extensive experience in handling appeals of unfavorable decisions by immigration judge. One of our specialties is representing individuals that the Immigration and Naturalization Service seeks to remove based on alleged criminal activity or a criminal conviction. To that end, our state and federal criminal experience is invaluable, as we understand both the criminal and immigration consequences of criminal activity, and also pursue post-conviction relief where a conviction has already occurred.
